Your Role: Senior or Staff Bioinformatics Scientist

As a Senior or Staff Bioinformatics Scientist, you will be the driving force in building and implementing a suite of in-silico software tools to support the complex multiplexed assays for the UltraPCR platform, to be used by internal product development and application scientists, as well as our customers. Additionally, you will be working with an interdisciplinary team of scientists to design and develop high-value UltraPCR assay products, and be interacting with external collaborators and early customers to support their adoption of UltraPCR and development of unique applications.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a set of assay design tools specific for Enumerix UltraPCR platform
  • Define and refine UltraPCR assay design rules leveraging multiplex PCR assay design principles and internal empirical UltraPCR data from various types of applications, in collaboration with with internal scientists
  • Develop algorithms to efficiently implement assay design principles for diverse assays and applications
  • Collaborate with front end developer to ensure seamless deployment and usability of a web application
  • Effectively document project progress, code descriptions, and analysis details for future developments
  • Communicate technical information clearly and prioritize project tasks effectively
  • Contribute actively to the dynamic and fast-paced culture of the company

Requirements:

  • PhD, in bioinformatics, bioengineering, biophysics, software engineering or computer science with focus in biology, or life science related degrees with training in bioinformatics
  • 3+ years of experience with bioinformatics training, preferably, experience of designing and analyzing results of highly multiplexed PCR, multiplexed FISH assays, and/or NGS gene panels
  • Fluency in Python; experience with other programming languages such as MATLAB and/or R desirable
  • Experience with building basic web applications, with packages such as Flask, Streamlit, or with JavaScript, HTML/CSS
  • Basic knowledge of, and preferably, wet lab experience with qPCR, dPCR, multiplexed FISH and/or NGS
  • Proactive and accountable with a positive attitude
  • Desire to work in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment

For this position, the base pay range is: $125,000 to $175,000 per year, with equity of an early and promising startup.
